Pope Francis blesses homeless services project at Jesuit church in central London

A papal blessing this Christmas

London, Christmas 2023 - Pope Francis has imparted his Apostolic Blessing this Christmas on all the guests and volunteers at CLCC Homeless Services hosted by Farm Street, the Jesuit Church in central London, and on formerly homeless parishioner David Fussell, and the Ooberfuse pop duo Hal St John and Cherrie Anderson, whose song 'Hard Times' featuring the rapper Snoop Dogg is raising much needed awareness and funds for the growing problem of rough sleeping on London's streets.

The message from Pope Francis, issued through the Apostolic Nunciature in London, states:

"In emphasising the importance of caring for the most vulnerable in society, His Holiness encourages the lighting of 'candles of hope in the midst of darkness..., to seize opportunities to bear witness to the Gospel of joy and to build a more fraternal world, or at least a bit more fraternal'" (Homily, World Day of the Poor, 13th November 2022).

Any proceeds from the song go directly to help the homeless this Christmas through the CLCC services. More information at www.clcc.uk

Hard Times featuring Snoop Dogg has now been released.
